To fix the firmware error causing error 49.38.07 on the startup of the device HP CM4540
This is a firmware error.
1. Turn printer on and watch when the display shows memory count, press and hold the down arrow until all three lights on the control panel are lit.
2 Press the up arrow
3 Press the home button, the message Skip disk load will display.
4 press the up arrow till NVRAM INIT is highlited.
5 Press the OK button
This will help by avoiding a check on the faulty firmware provided with the HP Printer by default

Download the most recent firmware onto a USB thumb drive and installed it from the USB port on the console
